Day 2 on to Sao Martinho do Porto

Left Setubal, where we stayed the first night driving to Sao Martinho do Porto, our destination for the next 15 nights of our trip.

We stopped along the way and visited the Cristo Rei monument across the Tagus river from Lisbon.  Quite a fantastic view of the river, the 25th April bridge and Lisbon in the distance across the river.  The Cristo Rei monument was a gift from Brazil to Portugal.

We then drove across the 25th of April Bridge (looks like the golden gate bridge in san francisco) and under a roman aquaduct that runs through part of Lisbon on our way out of the city, for about an hour north of Lisbon to our destination.

We were getting a little pecish along the drive so we spotted a shopping mall and thought lets see if we can get a sandwich and coffee.   So we went in and it was a large mall, lots of people around.  We went to the continente supermarket (this is a common practice in Portugal - the larger supermarkets have great cafes/cafeterias with good food for great value and there will alwys be lots of locals eating lunch there).  Had croissant sandwiches, coffee and water for 2.75€ each.

Then drove on the Sao Martinho, met up with person and checked into our condo.

We then walked around the area outside of the condo complex.  The complex is directly across the street from some seaside cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  Pictures to come soon.
