Day 1 Arrive in Portugal

 Day 1 Arrival - flights went very well, only a short delay in last leg with the TAP flight from Heathrow to Lisbon.  TAP did weigh our carry on bags and they were over the limit, lol, so had to take a few things out to take on and then checked the carry on bags for free for the last leg - Heathrow to Lisbon.   Rental car pickup at about 6pm went smooth and then we drove to Setubal for first nights stay at budget Ibis Hotel.   We booked this because we could cancel the reservation up to 6pm on day of arrival, which is later than any other hotel we could see.  Well, guess what, when we arrived to check in and gave front desk attendant our name, he said your reservation was for the previous night!   Oh my.   Check our documents and sure enough he was correct.   We left on one day and had an overnight flight so (Dave) must have mixed up the dates.  Asked if we were charged for the night and he said no, they just cancelled the reservation!   Wow, that is good service.   He booked another room for us on the spot for the current night for almost same price and we were good.   Went to the Intermarche supermarket to pick up couple of items and to Telepizza to get a pizza to go.    Back to room for bite to eat and off to bed to fend off jet lag.
