Day 9 Town beach and nearby deserted beach.
Today was a mostly cloudy day with a bit of sun late and high of 18C.
This morning we went to nearby (6 min drive) Praia da Gralha beach. The beach is surrounded by large cliffs, a step road leads down ( we walked the hill as it looked a little treacherous to drive). There is just a turnaround at the bottom of the road, no parking. There was nobody at the beach! The beach is signed and reviewed as having dangerous cliffs and surf. The beach is about 1km long. It has very steep rolling sand and large waves. At the north end there is a very large cliff, about 250 feet high, and there is large landslide area at the foot of the side of the cliff on the beach, maybe 30-50 foot high landslide.
In the afternoon we walked to the Sao Martinho do Porto town beach and up around a few streets in town.
Here are some pictures of these areas……. Praia da Gralha beach…
Now the beach in the town of Sao Martinho and a couple of street pics, all a couple mins walk from our condo…..
If you look closely at the picture below you might be able to see the kid sliding down the sand dune hill…..
Step count 19,349.
