Day 23 Alvor & Ferragudo

Weather today was sunny with some passing clouds and high of 21C.

Today we visited the towns of Alvor and Ferragudo.   These are seaside towns to the west and east of the larger Algarve city of Portimao.

Both Alvor and Ferragudo have scenic beach areas and quaint old town areas with narrow streets and an old Portugal feeling.

Alvor has a great hiking/biking wooden pathway around the native Rio de Alvor, an area near a river outlet that feeds into the sea.

We had a lunch of some tasty homemade tosta mistas in Alvor at a traditional local cafe called Pastelaria Perini.

Here are some pictures in Alvor……….

Gale meeting new friends….

While spending the afternoon in Ferragudo we visited the local museum, which had some artisans displaying their goods.  We also walked around the old town streets, stopped at a gelato shop and had a look at the beach.

In the evening we visited with some great Nfld friends who were staying in the town.   You can see the view from their balcony in Ferragudo in the which had a great view of the Portimao skyline in the sunset picture below.

Below are some pictures from Ferragudo……
