Day 55 Bike Tour near Faro
This day the weather was sunny with a high of 28C.
We ventured on a bike tour today. The tour was booked with a company in Albufeira called Algarve Bike Holidays. It was the “Quinta do Lago - Praia da Faro” tour. It was a 4+ hour tour including transport to the starting location and back. The tour company picked us up at our condo in Olhos d’Agua and dropped us back afterwards. They supplied the bikes and helmets and it was a guided tour with the person who drove the transport bus leading us on the route. The tour started at Quinta do Lago near a golf course and the wetlands area. The tour went along the wetlands, through salt flats, around Faro Airport, literally beside a runway, out to Faro Island beach and back to the starting point. It was relatively flat easy biking, with some slight tricky spots navigating a walking overpass, path bike slowdown barriers and a one lane roadway bridge to the beach barrier island. The tour included a stop at a beachside restaurant for a beverage and a snack at our cost.
There were five people on our tour, so a small group which allowed for flexibility in the speed and stops.
